Summer Pre-School

Cognitive Skills
Knowing where the money goes in the register
Following patterns from a song
Playing Simon Says

Putting blocks away on the correct shelves
Using binoculars to see things differently. He loved to use them throughout the class.
Taylor recognizes his name and knows where to put his backpack and coat in the correct locker.
Social Skills
Playing with teachers! They are the watermelon during "The Very Hungry Caterpillar"
Sharing the swing with his classmates
Playing trains! His favorite pastime. Pulling the wagon with a classmate on a field trip
Adaptive Skills
Playing with the mats.
Pouring juice into his own cup! He is so big!
Cleaning up by throwing away his napkin.
Watering the plants.
Washing his baby rock.
Getting the milk from the cart and taking it to the table.
Squeezing oranges for fresh orange juice
Cutting apples for snack time
Hammering two pieces of wood together with a nail
Helping saw a piece of wood

This was a big step. He wrote a "T" and then 3 circles to represent the other letters as well as a long tail for the 'y'.
Taylor enjoyed pre-school so much! He loved going and hated leaving sometimes. Hopefully he can get into the Fall semester as well. There are 125 on the waiting list and we will see. The local school district callecd but I don't want him to go there yet. I'm a little biased...oh well.

  1. Looks like a great preschool! I'm very impressed with all of it! We're trying to get Hallie in a preschool here as well and I can't wait to see what she does with it! Good job Taylor!

  2. What a blast! Hard to believe he is old enough for preschool now.
    I am teaching a pre-K class with 3-4 year olds now and am blown away what they can do and accomplish. What an exciting time. :)
