Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day Weekend! Wow. We sure had a blast! We've been super  busy with the semester and our kids so blogging has gone on the back burner. I've enjoyed watching The Office and How I Met Your Mother.  Love them! Steve is searching for an internship.  Please let us know if you hear anything about a film editing position. We've got a friend in LA but he works and isn't over internships, but definitely helping us look in the right direction.  ( and we got to eat at The Cheesecake Factory at the new City Creek Center. whoa. what place is awesome)

We spent the Memorial Day weekend in Heber City and Salt Lake! It was awesome to get out of Rexburg. We went to see Thomas at Heber City.  Both Olivia and Taylor loved it, and honestly I did, too.  It was a lot of fun to see all the Thomas memorabilia and to see an actual sized Thomas.  You can pay to take a ride in the coaches as Thomas pulls you for a short 25 minute ride.  Taylor decided we were riding in Thomas's coach, Clarabell.

 CANNOT resist that face!
 Certificates from the Conductor himself!

Taylor told us this was Diesel.

There were a lot of stations to go to and of course, they were selling hot dogs and popcorn.

We are always trying to make a stop at Temple Square. It's a tradition Steve's family has had and my family did it a lot, too.  There were a few others there that offered to take our picture.

Some shots Steve got of the temple

Now on Monday we went out to Thanksgiving Pointe to the Ancient Life Museum.  Dino-saurs! They have this pond where you can build dams and play in the sand.  Olivia had a blast!!

We met Bruce (he never knew his father).

I'd hate to be that guy...

But, one of the most wonderful things about Memorial Day is the part where we all stop from our daily stupid routines and realize how grateful we are to be able to do things like this.  I have several people in my own family, and Steve's, that have served and given their lives for our country.  I have such a deep love that I  seriously thought about joining.  A friend of mine in our ward has served and it has always impressed me.  I don't think I'll ever be able to express how eternally grateful I am for their service.  Freedom doesn't come free.
