Making Tu-Tus & Easter Clothes

Okay, Okay. I have finally given into making accessories for Liv. My sister is a master bow maker and I am going to attempt to make some. Those of you who have seen them know that they are dang cute!!! Liv is so stylish and only 9 months old!! Ha ha! Of course, I ran to Wal-Mart and purchased their 97 cent/yard toole. I have four colors. My sister explained that you can add things like bling or ribbon. So here's the red one. I need to make the waistband a bit smaller so it will also take out the white you see here! I added a black ribbon weaving through the knotted parts to create more of a waist look and tied a bow in the back. Now the model...

OK -- these are not made by me. My post title is a bit misleading, but I do have patterns for little girl dresses that my sewing teacher on campus was giving away. They are 50s style which some are what they are wearing today.
Taylor is wearing his new suit outfit Steve picked out. It has a wicked sweet tie and the suit is tweed, light brown. We got him another one that is blue.
He loves to hold Liv. As we were leaving church yesterday, all Taylor wanted to do was hold her and carry her out the door. I hope they stay close as they get older.
Each Easter, in my family, each girl (three including myself) got a new dress. Well, I splurged a bit and got Liv four dresses. Yes, four. They were buy 3 get one free so I did it. Most of their dresses are $32 and above but I found 3 for about $20 and then they were an additional 15% off. So, about $15 each and then a free one. It was a good day. They are from JoLene's. They have premie to size 12 or 14 in the same dress style and any color imaginable!! It was like going to MiniWorld all over again. Any one remember that dress store? I think that's how I became more girly. I always loved being outside and playing with the boys but there was something else about putting on a nice, pretty dress that made you feel different than before. This photo is of the blue one. I got a purple, green/yellow, and of course, a pink one. (more of those to come another time)

I know it's a little close but how can you resist those eyes!? Or should I say eyelashes..

We had a splendid time in Salt Lake over the Easter weekend. A big thanks goes to Aunt Amanda and Uncle Nate who gave of their time to watch our kids so Steve and I could have some alone time. It's been a while due to school and work. We really, really appreciated their willingness to help us out. Maybe next time they are up we can return the favor.
We love you all and miss those of you who aren't here close to us!!
Much love, Steve, Allison, Taylor and Olivia

  2. What Julie said, Ditto. =) I want to know how you did it too, it's ADORABLE! Maybe I'll just have to pay you to make them for me, since I'm not very good at that kind of thing. I just like buying cute stuff for my baby girl, I haven't had too much success making stuff. =) So, please share "the know" if you get a chance.
